Guns 2009—Rifles

This year will see some interesting trends.
In handguns, though the 1911 remains a
popular choice, small self-defense pistols are coming on strong. Polymer-frame service
pistols should remain good sellers, and a new single-shot hunting handgun makes its debut. Shotguns will see a blend of the innovative and the practical, especially in the pump and semi-auto arenas. Also onboard for 2009 is an entry-level rifled-barrel pump slug gun. In rifles, the hot ticket is a new AR (.30-caliber cartridge) designed specifically for big-game hunting, but bolt-actions will still reign supreme.
