Good Guns, Good Cause

Davidson’s, operator of GalleryofGuns.com, is one of the country’s largest firearms wholesalers. The company is an active participant in and member and/or sponsor of many firearms related organizations, including but not limited to, the Congressional Sportsman’s Foundation, HSSHT, NSSF and the NRA. The company’s CEO, Brian Tucker, co-founder of the non-profit Good Gun Foundation, has always believed in giving back to community, and his latest idea is already have a good effect on students in his Arizona community.

While working on a friend’s charity “Stomp Across Arizona” project, Tucker envisioned a “silent witness” program to help MATForce, the Yavapai County, Arizona, Substance Abuse Coalition, crack down on drug activity in middle and high schools throughout the county. The new program is called “Busted--Students Against Drugs and/or Gang Activity Program.” The program works through the Yavapai Silent Witness Program to pay cash rewards to any student who supplies information that leads to an arrest involving methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin and/or gang activity on any middle or high school campus in Yavapai County. All information reported through the Silent Witness hotline remains anonymous.

The Good Gun Foundation donated ,500 to the program and Davidson’s donated ,000 for the cash rewards.

“We commend the efforts of MATForce and hope these contributions and this program will help MATForce achieve its objectives in our community,” Tucker says. “Davidson’s couldn’t be more proud than to be part of this tremendous cause.”

Sheila Polk, Yavapai County Attorney and co-founder of MATForce, said, “The Good Gun Foundation and Davidson’s stepped forward to provide an incentive to students to take responsibility for creating safe campuses. We are pleased to partner with them and Yavapai Silent Witness in this endeavor.”

The program is already seeing results in just the first weeks. Yavapai Silent Witness paid a 0 cash reward to an anonymous caller who shared information about drugs being sold on the Prescott High School campus. After Yavapai Silent Witness received the call, they assigned the case to PANT (Partners Against Narcotic Trafficking), and they eventually arrested two male suspects.
