November 12, 2013, Fort Collins, CO—HiViz Shooting Systems (a division of North Pass Ltd.), announces the third generation of light-gathering sights for handguns (referred to as Gen3). “We have developed a cutting-edge new design that combines the durability of our overmolded sights with the versatility of our interchangeable LitePipe sights,” says Trevor Young, Product Manager.

This unique new sight design features a skeletonized steel sight body which protects the LitePipes and gives it the strength of the popular overmolded series of sights. Another important feature of the new design is the internal locking mechanism that has been machined into the sight body. “The locking feature will provide the highest level of reliability and longevity of the LitePipes,” adds Young. The result is a sight with superior light gathering capability that allows you to choose a color that best suits the lighting conditions or your personal preference.

The new line maintains many of the other features HiViz sights have become known for, including a ramped and serrated sight blade with a square profile and LitePipe brightness that is even effective in low light conditions. It is debuting to fit select models of Smith & Wesson, Glock, Ruger and Springfield handguns with plans of expanding to other brands and models in the coming months.

These new sights, along with other HiViz shooting accessories, are available through selected sporting goods stores and at www.HiVizSights.com.

HiViz Shooting Systems manufactures light-gathering sights, recoil pads and accessories for the shooting industry. For more information, contact Jeff Maust, Marketing Director at (970) 484-8242 or jlmaust@frii.com.

Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. (NYSE: RGR) announces the launch of the newly redesigned Red Label over-and-under shotgun. Known for years as a top choice of American hunters and clay shooters for its world-renowned rugged construction and handsome American styling – the Red Label returns. The shotgun now features refined inner workings, a new center of gravity and reduced recoil. These new improvements deliver improved comfort and an enhanced shooting performance.

Shooters that have frequented the woods, fields and clay courses know the Ruger® Red Label shotgun has been a reliable performer that swings easily. The new 12 gauge Red Label has a redistributed center of gravity for even greater instinctual swing and pointing. Two-inch extended forcing cones, maximum back-bored barrels and a soft Pachmayr® buttpad enhance the shooting experience with reduced recoil. The Red Label’s familiar, low profile receiver reduces muzzle climb because the centerline of the bore is closer to the gun’s center mass. The new Red Label makes for an extremely comfortable shooting shotgun in the field or on the range.

“After 32 years of production, we put the Red Label on hiatus in 2011,” commented Ruger President and CEO, Mike Fifer. “We knew we could employ newer technology, improve the design and deliver a better performing Red Label. We have done that and restored the Red Label as the best American-made, over-and-under shotgun on the market.”

The Red Label features an American Walnut stock with a 1.5″ drop at comb and a 2.5″ drop at heel. Red Label shotguns are available with 26″, 28″or 30″ barrels and each model features a 14.5″ length of pull. The new models retain the Red Label’s classic lines and good looks, which are further enhanced by the new stainless steel top lever. The suggested retail price for all three models is $1,399.

Each shotgun includes a custom molded, semi-soft case, five Briley® chokes (two skeet chokes and one full, one modified and one improved cylinder choke), a premium-quality Briley® choke tube wrench and a safety lock.

The SR-762™ offers the downrange authority of the .308 cartridge in a two-stage, piston-driven rifle that runs cooler and cleaner than traditional gas-driven AR-style rifles.

The AR15 Lite Rail II™ is the next generation of Lite Rail from Daniel Defense. With thousands of the Lite Rail Series already in existence, this proven handguard just got better.

The Stealth SS crossbow pairs the company’s popular, streamlined XLT bow assembly with the new stock and tactical barrel assembly to create a shorter, lighter, and more powerful version of the awardwinning Stealth XLT. The key component is the FSB (Functionally Superior Bullpup) stock and a new black, anodized, 19.5-inch tactical aluminum fluted barrel fitted with a 4-inch bullpup version of the company’s patented PowerTouch trigger. The FSB stock uses strategically placed cutouts to reduce weight and improve balance, and the ergonomic design is configured with optimal comb height and length of pull. The embedded barrel employs rubber inserts and dual-purpose rubber safety wings to further reduce noise and vibration. The primary function of the patentpending wings, however, is to help keep the shooter’s foregrip hand safely below the flight deck.

Like TenPoint’s other XLT models, the Stealth SS’s bow assembly measures a streamlined 13.5 inches from axle to axle when cocked. Its machined riser is fitted with 11-inch IsoTaper Limbs, MRX cams, D-75 string and cables, and a detachable, lightweight, coated aluminum foot stirrup. The combined assemblies produce an ultracompact 185-pound draw-weight model that shoots a 420-grain Pro Elite arrow 334 fps. With the new FSB stock and barrel configuration, the Stealth SS measures just 34.4 inches long and weighs only 6.8 pounds, making it the most compact crossbow TenPoint has ever produced. SRP: $1,099– $1,119. (800-548-6837; tenpointcrossbows.com)

It’s no secret that many of your customers record their hunts on a smartphone of some sort. And every time they touch the screen, they leave behind an oily fingerprint. That’s where LensPen steps in. SmartKlear is designed to remove fingerprints from iPhone and Android phone touchscreens. Its cleaning pad is impregnated with the same carbon compound used in other LensPen products designed for riflescopes and binoculars. No liquids, cloths, or sprays. Replaceable cleaning pads give 300 cleanings per pad. CellKlear features the same carbonimpregnated cleaning tip as other LensPen models, and is sized perfectly to clean a smartphone lens. iPads and tablets are also very popular cameras. SideKick, the original LensPen touchscreen cleaner, has a cleaning pad twice the size of SmartKlear’s, and it is perfect for removing fingerprints from larger touchscreens. SRP: SmartKlear, $9.95; CellKlear, $8.95; SideKick, $19.95. (lenspen.com)

The MeoPod TP-1 tripod has been designed specifically for use with spotting scopes, not SLR cameras. The two-way fluid head, guided by a long handle, delivers vibration-free panning and tilt action, a big plus when digiscoping or iScoping in movie mode. The lockable handle allows for quick and stable “image capturing” after the target is acquired. Target shooters will also find this feature handy: Using an angled spotting scope and Meopta MeoPix iPhone Adapter, the shooter can see and photograph bullet holes in targets at great distances without having to leave the shooting position. The tripod weighs just under 6 pounds and folds to 26 inches for easy carrying in the field. The MeoPod also features quickrelease levers to speed deployment of the padded, anodized legs, and its unique leg pivots adjust to four different angles for more versatile observation and photography. The maximum total height with center riser extended is 70 inches, and there is a center hook on which to hang extra weight, such as a backpack, for additional stability. SRP: $359.99.
