Illinois State Senator Threatens Gun Seizures

When Illinois State Sen. Julie Morrison was questioned by a citizen concerned that SB107 would take away [his] semi-automatic firearms, Morrison countered the goal wasn’t to take them but to prevent their future sale. The citizen pointed out that the bill included a fine and registration with state police if the firearms weren’t voluntarily surrendered. Morrison responded with, “Well, you just maybe changed my mind. Maybe we won’t have a fine at all, maybe it’ll just be a confiscation.” NSSF opposes this legislation.
