What many are calling the most versatile and innovative competition pistol has finally landed in the U.S. The 9mm Laugo Arms Alien was on hand for media to take for a spin. Lancer Systems has joined forces with the Czechoslovakian gunmaker to bring 500 Laugo Alien Signature Edition pistols for U.S.-exclusive sales. Each is numbered and bears designer Jan Lucansky’s engraved signature.

This pistol rare and exclusive as Lancer and Lucansky have agreed to never sign another pistol model or produce another run of Signature Edition Aliens moving forward. The Alien boasts the lowest bore axis of any semi-auto pistol in the world and has a top rail that is independent of the slide, meaning the iron sights or red dot optic does not reciprocate when firing, adding life to optics and enhancing speed an accuracy. The top rail can also be switched out without tools and without losing zero, which the Laugo reps did repeatedly between magazines to show how easy it is to do.

While there is still recoil, there is hardly and muzzle flip and the fact that the red dot does not move when the pistol cycles makes fast, accurate shots easy even for someone who isn’t remotely a competition shooter. The Signature Edition kit comes with a custom hard case including three 17-round magazines, a standard top rail with adjustable competition sights, an additional optics-ready top rail with an included red dot sight, a cleaning kit, and a custom Elornis adjustable competition holster.
